Mercure Bristol Grand Hotel
Situated on Broad Street int he historic quarter of Bristol city centre, visitors to the venue are just steps away from the old city wall, cobbled streets and St Nicholas Market. The striking Victorian frontage of the Grade II listed hotel exudes elegance, with large wooden-framed windows and Florentine-style eaves balcony, accented with pretty hanging baskets. The stained-glass foyer is a striking centrepiece to the venue.
Having undergone a £5million renovation in the past year, the interiors now represent a tasteful fusion of industrial Victoriana and contemporary Bristol street art. Guests entering the building follow in the footsteps of Frank Sinatra and Mick Jagger - although in 1964 the latter was asked to leave!
There are three ceremony spaces available. The Marlborough Suite holds up to 100 people and is decorated with elegant mirrors and crystal light fittings and benefits from floor-to-ceiling windows. The Ballroom is an impressive space for 300 loved ones to enjoy the eight-metre high ceilings and grand chandeliers. The Wessex Suite is the largest option, providing contemporary setting for up to 500 friends and family.
Receptions are held in The Ballroom or The Wessex Suite, both benefiting from a bar and dancefloor. There's also the opportunity to have drinks in Marlow's, an intimate bar with sofas and plenty of nooks to relax in, it also features a Medieval well.
