I'm very excited to say that I am now planning a wedding – not my own, but my best friend Charlie’s! As soon as she announced she was engaged I went in to full-on control freak mode. I took her a whole stack of magazines and we’ve now got five Pinterest boards brimming with outlandish and over-the-top ideas. I got married two years ago, and I’ve been counting down the seconds until I could get my wedmin spreadsheet out again!
Our first job to tick off the to-do list was to choose a venue. If you’re at the same stage, then make sure you flick to page 17 to see our pick of beautiful Bristol venues.
You’re going to love the super-sweet styled shoot on page 79; featuring pretty pastels and Neapolitan hues, it showcases how couples can totally rock their day in their own way.
Don’t tell my bestie, but I’ve already started looking at flower ideas – turn to page 64 to see our experts’ most showstopping displays. I’m trying to convince her that the maid-of-honour traditionally gets a diamond ring too!

The Bristol Pavilion
The Bristol Pavilion is a modern events venue located at the home of Gloucestershire County Cricket Club. It has a range of flexible function spaces, all boasting a stunning backdrop of the wicket and grounds. Each room is decorated in a contemporary style, providing the ideal blank canvas for celebrations.
The Premier Lounge is a second-floor room that can accommodate up to 120 people. Ideal for ceremonies and receptions, it benefits from a double-height ceiling and plenty of natural light. The Jessop Room is a great party space for up to 120 loved ones, with its wooden flooring perfect for dancing and a small covered terrace. The largest room is The Grace Room. This grand, spacious setting is suitable for up to 300 people to dance the night away. Smaller gatherings have a choice of intimate rooms in which to wed.
There’s a range of specially designed wedding packages available, but the dedicated event planners can also work on a bespoke basis. The venue prides itself on using locally sourced and seasonal produce in all of its menus.
