This winter, iconic beachfront resort Marbella Club and sister property, intimate mountain retreat El Lodge Ski & Spa will come together to create 'Sea & Sierra', a new twin-centred programme centred around active explorations and nature-based nurturing in some of Spain's most spectacular landscapes. The new programme also promises guests the unique opportunity to experience both ski and sea within just a few hours - perfect for couples looking for relaxtion and adventure on their honeymoon!

Beginning in the magical Sierra Nevada mountains at El Lodge, guests will disconnect from the stresses of daily life and embrace a slower pace of mountain living, rising each morning to explore the Sierra Nevada National Park by horseback, or go hiking in Los Cahorros – a pristine network of gorges, rock pools, waterfalls an historic acequias knitted together via hanging bridges and winding trails.

Afternoons are spent exploring the region's 106km of vertiginous pistes, made easy by El Lodge's ski-in-ski-out facilities and host of expert instructors. Back at the lodge, guests can receive private access to El Lodge's spa to ease aching muscles with a deep-tissue massage, or indulge in a sleep-inducing spa ritual, a combination of breathing techniques, short guided visualisations and carefully selected aromatic essential oils. Designed to feel like a traditional Andalusian open-air village, guests will then head south for three nights at the Marbella Club, one of the only luxury hotels in the region to remain open this winter. With an approach to wellness that is intuitive, deeply nurturing and healing, each morning guests will restore balance between mind and body with private wellness activities, from aerial yoga and Pilates to sound healing and meditation.

Guests will then head out with the hotel's personal trainer for daily bracing hikes or mountain biking excursions, where they'll ascend to the peak of Montemayor mountain; cross the rocky Refugio de Juanar base; and traverse the lush Sierra Blanca region, passing natural pools and small waterfalls along the way. Back at the hotel, guests can visit the Marbella Club's expansive sea-facing thalassotherapy spa, where treatments harness the natural healing benefits of the mineral-rich Mediterranean to stimulate circulation, relieve muscular tension and remineralise the body.

To book: The 'Sea & Sierra' Programme starts from 2,103 per person including: three nights at El Lodge, horseback riding, Los Cahorros hike, ski hire and a sleep-inducing spa ritual. Three nights at Marbella Club, one meditation session, one yoga class, a choice of a hike or mountain-bike excursion and a Vichy Exfoliation Treatment. Transfers between the two properties included.
