However, time wasn’t on their sides as they only had two weeks together before Nopera was due to leave on a three-month fishing trip. But we’re glad to tell you that absence does indeed make the heart grow fonder and he returned six weeks early because as he couldn’t wait to be with Alice again. There was just one more hurdle to overcome: Alice was heading back to the UK. By this point though, the lovestruck couple knew they weren’t meant to be apart, so Nopera joined her. It wasn’t long before he surprised Alice with a marriage proposal back in Bristol one night, during a meal at the Marriott Royal Hotel.
