With that silhouette in mind, she only needed to go to one bridal boutique, Bride At Home, and found her dream dress straight away, Eternity Bride D5717. She says, “It was so similar to the one I’d seen back then and feel in love with it instantly. I knew it was the dress I wanted to walk down the aisle towards Pete in.” The aim for the groom’s party was to chose an item of clothing that would be uniform throughout, so a family friend offered to make a set of waistcoats. For these, the pair chose a traditional green tweed to complement the country vibe. The groomsmen then paired these with beige chinos, a white shirt and a dark green wool tie. Pete and the two fathers wore their waistcoats with a light brown suit. “I loved the more casual top and skirt outfits that bridesmaids have been wearing recently, but I couldn’t find the perfect ones,” Jess tells us. What she did find were pretty close – dusky pink dresses, which, despite not being quite right, could be altered. So, with the help of the same talented friend who made the waistcoats, they were transformed into maxi skirts and paired with white lace tops. IF MUSIC BE THE FOOD OF LOVE... Jess and Pete were keen to avoid any lulls in their day, and wanted to ensure guests were kept entertained with music throughout. A family friend played guitar and sang a mix of songs during the drinks reception, which took place in the venue’s courtyard area. It was the perfect way to start the celebrations, and set just the right chilled-out tone. Court Farm has a firepit, so the newlyweds provided loved ones with plenty of marshmallows to toast, and blankets to cosy up under as the sun went down. A live band played during the evening, who also provided a silent disco following the meal until the night ended. “They were great at ensuring people had a good time dancing, and also allowed Pete to play a song with them on drums,” Jess shares.
