Being a November baby and Christmas fanatic, this time of year has a special place in my heart. As for winter nuptials, well, is there anything more magical? One of my best friends got married at Christmas, and the luxurious decorations, roaring log fire and delicious warming food will forever be in my memory – what a wedding! If you’re just starting your journey and haven’t decided when to get married, then our Winter Wonderland venues feature (page 23) puts forward a pretty good argument for choosing this season!

Bailbrook House Hotel

Vows can be taken in front of up to 130 witnesses in one of five licensed rooms. The Princess Elizabeth, Duke of Clarence and Queen Charlotte rooms are all suitable for intimate gatherings. For larger affairs, the Lansdown (90 guests) and Brunel Suite (130 guests each) are more spacious and contemporary. After the formalities, drinks can be enjoyed in the Conservatory Bar (120 guests), which spills out on to the lawns. The Front Terrace (120 guests) boasts breathtaking vistas, and the Royal Lounge (90 guests) is situated within the Georgian house. For the wedding breakfast, guests will enjoy delicious catering in one of the sumptuous suites or fine-dining restaurants for parties of up to 130 people.
Brides and grooms will benefit from a free menu tasting before the big day, and there are 13 individually decorated bedrooms to choose from for their wedding night with stunning features such as copper baths.
