Welcome, lovely readers, to our 75th issue. It’s so exciting that we’ve reached such a big milestone and I know the big 8-0 will be here before we know it. If you’re joining us for the first time following a festive proposal *squeals*, then get ready to meet the best suppliers our region has to offer. We’re passionate (ahem, obsessed) about showcasing the local wedding industry to couples, and every type of nuptials from glamorous to rustic and contemporary to historic has graced these pages over the years.
We’ve got such a treat for you this issue with inspiring real weddings (starting on page 30), styled shoots (pages 71 and 99) and 11 pages of swoon-worthy fashion. We’ll also introduce you to some of the leading caterers in the area (page 55) and help you plan the hen party to end all hen parties (page 63).
Enjoy! Hannah | |

Tie the knot in... Taunton Deane and West Somerset |

Hestercombe Gardens
What can you expect? The happy couple can enjoy a choice of historic venues within 50 acres of lovingly restored gardens, featuring lakes, light-dappled pathways and stunning views of the Blackdown Hills. The idyllic scenery is tended by a team of skilled gardeners all year round.
Lets celebrate! The Orangery (90 guests) is a beautiful hamstone building, designed by British architect Sir Edwin Lutyens. Licensed for ceremonies, it offers a picture-perfect setting for all styles of wedding and allows brides and grooms to enjoy a light-filled area before spilling out to enjoy drinks on the lawn.
The Bampfylde Hall (150 guests) dates back to 1680. High ceilings and dramatic timber beams make it a fantastic place for a couple to enjoy their ceremony, wedding breakfast and party. The fairy-lit canopy emphasises its charm.
For something a little different, couples can have an open air wedding in the 18th-century temple (112 guests), which is perched high above the Pear Pond in the Landscape Gardens. A romantic hideaway, it boasts views across to Taunton Vale.
We love... Smaller weddings can be held within the rooms of Hestercombe House for a more intimate feel.
