Looks like we made it! At the time of writing, we’re heading towards the summer of love, and I am ecstatic: sunshine, laughter, friends, family and WEDDINGS are just what we need right now. I hope all of you who have had to deal with the stress and upset of rearranging your wedding are soon able to have your dream day – goodness knows you deserve it! And I hope that every hug is a little tighter, every dance move is executed with more pizzazz and every moment is full of joy.
As always, we’re bringing you the absolute best of the Bristol and Somerset wedding industry this issue. Every venue (page 15), photographer (page 88), boutique owner (page 53) and venue stylist (page 47) over these pages has had to diversify and show extraordinary resilience during the pandemic, and they can finally get back to doing what they do best: creating the most epic weddings imaginable for you lovely lot!

Aldwick Estate
Not far from bustling Bristol is this idyllic country farm venue. Panoramic views flow gently through the gardens before skimming Aldwick’s verdant fields to the River Yeo at the farm’s south boundary and Homefield Vineyard to the west. From the valley rises a patchwork of distant farms, fields and forests to the summit of the Mendip Hills. This pastoral beauty sets the scene for memorable photographs.
The venue is the perfect marriage of historic and modern; all the charm of a rustic 17th-century farm is happily united with the comforts and efficiency of the 21st century.
The venue comprises two adjacent stone barns linked by a main reception and the inviting brick-walled Cellar Bar to the rear. The barns are licensed for ceremonies with up to 150 guests. The Old Barn boasts architectural features of the bygone dairy farm, while The New Barn is a light and open space with neutral interiors waiting to be decorated to the couple’s taste.
Delicious, bespoke menus are provided by Taste Buds Catering and can be designed to complement the nearlyweds’ wishes. Wine for the wedding breakfast is produced using grapes grown on-site.

The day has finally come – wedding ceremonies and celebrations are restriction free! Grab your dancing shoes and get ready to sing at the top of your voice: "Celebrate good times... come on!" It's been a long road that many of us have tentatively navigated over the last 16 months; from us here at County Wedding Magzines HQ to suppliers and couples. There's been small highs and many lows, as each glimmer of hope was put out by another government announcement. Lockdown 1.0 turned into 2.0 and then 3.0, wedding guest numbers went from 0 to 12, 15 to 30 and now we can actually invite all of our loved ones, friends and family dear to our hearts to the big day. There's really been no better time to say 'I do', not only will it be mask free (personal choice), socially distance-free and rule-free; but it will be a true celebration of marriage, a union of friends and family, love and friendship.
