Welcome, lovely readers, to our 75th issue. It’s so exciting that we’ve reached such a big milestone and I know the big 8-0 will be here before we know it. If you’re joining us for the first time following a festive proposal *squeals*, then get ready to meet the best suppliers our region has to offer. We’re passionate (ahem, obsessed) about showcasing the local wedding industry to couples, and every type of nuptials from glamorous to rustic and contemporary to historic has graced these pages over the years.
We’ve got such a treat for you this issue with inspiring real weddings (starting on page 30), styled shoots (pages 71 and 99) and 11 pages of swoon-worthy fashion. We’ll also introduce you to some of the leading caterers in the area (page 55) and help you plan the hen party to end all hen parties (page 63).
Enjoy! Hannah | |

Gants Mill
Nestled in a secluded position in the valley of the River Brue, Gants Mill is home to waterfalls, streams and picturesque gardens, as well as a 1,000-year-old working watermill.
Couples benefit from exclusive use of the secluded 50-acre river valley. Its idyllic floral gardens provide a burst of colour throughout its April-to-October wedding season, and parties have access to the mill, with a guided tour for guests included as part of the day.
Ceremonies are normally held in the oak Gazebo (150 guests) in the floral gardens, but the Garden Room is also licensed for nuptials should the weather be bad. After the formalities, receptions take place in the traditional, furnished marquee, with everything needed to throw a party – from lighting and heaters to a PA and bar.
The venue is very flexible, with couples being able to bring in their own caterers and alcohol with no corkage fee applied. There’s also a bridal suite included in every booking.
