Hello, lovelies! Thanks so much for joining us this issue. Well, what a turbulent year it’s been so far. While writing this, things are still a little foggy and we’re not sure how restrictions will evolve when it comes to weddings. One thing is clear though: this is the time to focus on what’s important. And weddings are the escapism we all need right now.

Whether you’re opting to host a small celebration that’s brimming with personal touches for close family or you’ve decided to pull out all the stops and throw the ultimate party when this is all over, there’s no wrong way of doing things. Now’s the time to go with your gut. This issue is full of inspiration, advice and incredible local suppliers who’ll treat your big day like their own. We’ve been in awe of the support the Bristol and Somerset wedding industry has shown couples over the last few months.

So pop the kettle on, settle down and get ready to be inspired by incredible real weddings (page 29), celebrate the best wedding photos of 2019 (page 55) and find your dream boho dress (page 65). Don’t forget, we’re offering our full back catalogue of digital magazines for free at this time – just head to our website.

Bailbrook House

Perched on a Bath hilltop and reached via a tree-lined drive, this countryside escape offers breathtaking views of the Avon Valley. Its 20 acres of private grounds are full of pretty spots, with each season bringing another beautiful backdrop. Couples can soak it all up with a stroll around the grounds, while looking out for the picture-perfect lovers bench.

A warm welcome awaits at the handsome Georgian mansion house, with its soft gold stone frontage, carved pillars and large sash windows. Dating back to the 1790s, the venue retains all the glory of its bygone years alongside contemporary furnishings.

Vows can be taken in The Queen Charlotte (65 guests), which is the largest of the three royal lounges and benefits from floor-toceiling windows and views of the gardens and city beyond. Ceremonies and receptions can be held in the stylishly versatile Lansdown (90 guests), which has double doors opening out to the garden for post-ceremony drinks. The Brunel (130 day guests and 200 evening guests) is the largest space. With its private foyer, bar and terrace, this suite can cover every aspect of the day. Its mirrored walls, sparkling chandeliers and neutral decor give it a romantic ambience. Looking for a more intimate celebration? Cloisters restaurant is a lovely setting for 50 people, or there’s also a choice of smaller private dining rooms.

Ring the changes with award-winning jeweller Cooljoolz

We're excited to announce that award-winning jeweller Cooljoolz has introduced an alternative metal to the world of wedding rings: tantalum. "It's an interesting, rare metal and we're really excited to be working with it," says Carolyn Moloney of Cooljoolz. "While it's new to jewellery, it's been used in electronics and healthcare for some time. We love the rich blue-grey colour with a masculine appearance. It has the weight of platinum but at a fraction of the cost."
