Ah, August! How we’ve missed you! The glorious sun-filled days and balmy midsummer nights take forever to start, and then they’re over in what seems like the blink of an eye. But what’s the best thing about this time of year? Wedding season! It’s a time when my inbox is brimming with the dreamiest Bristol and Somerset weddings, and we couldn’t be happier. To see this issue’s pick of local love stories, head to page 30.
Give us a bit of sunshine, and we’re suffering with serious wanderlust. If you’re already thinking about your post-vow travels, then flick to our honeymoon section on page 110. Back to the wedding planning for a minute – you’ve got to check out the luxurious lace dresses our fashion editor, Claire Ridley, has picked out on page 71. All you need then is the perfect embellishment, so have a look at our jewellery and accessories feature on page 63.

The Clifton Club
Nestled in the heart of Clifton village, a stone’s throw from the iconic Clifton Suspension Bridge, The Clifton Club boasts views over the beautiful Mall Gardens. Occupying a historical landmark, the building features an impressive columned façade standing proud above the street.
The venue was tastefully restored in 2007 with a nod to its Georgian heritage. The interiors showcase ornate plaster cornicing, large fireplaces, chandeliers, marble columns and an exquisite glass dome ceiling.
Ceremonies are held in the Dining Room (100 guests), the Centenary Room (50 guests) and the intimate Clubroom (20 guests.) Post-vow parties take place across the three main adjoining rooms, with flexible layouts allowing up to 175 standing guests and creating a dancefloor.
