Georgina and Arthur's relationship didn't start out like a fairytale. "We met 12 years ago at work," Georgina tells us. "We didn't get on at first and took great pleasure in antagonising each other!" Somewhere along the line they realised that maybe they didn't dislike each other at all – although they still like to wind each other up!
The pair tied the knot at the stunning Arnos Vale in Bristol on the 5th May, 2019. They chose the pretty al fresco Underwood for the ceremony, followed by a reception at the Spielman Centre. Georgina lets us in on the details…
I'd been to the venue before for an event and I was struck by how beautiful it was. It's one-of-a-kind – we didn't look anywhere else.
For our flowers we had a variety of white blooms accented with foliage, all bound together with blue ribbons. Our table centrepieces were small glass containers filled with coordinating florals.
We had a book theme throughout the day. Our place settings were bookmarks with quotes from literature on them, while the tables were named after fictional lands
Instead of a traditional cake topper we had Pop Vinyl figures of Jack and Sally from The Nightmare Before Christmas. There was also a selection of yummy cupcakes.
We treated our guests to amazing catering from Kate's Kitchen. There were huge sharing platters with a variety of delicious food
I wore a corseted dress with a pretty train. My Irregular Choice Star Wars-themed shoes definitely made a statement.
Arthur looked dashing in a black three-piece tux with a navy bow tie, which tied inperfectly with the bridesmaid's full-length dress with silver detailing.
I walked down the aisle to a string quartet version of The Throne Room from Star Wars. It was great, until my dress nearly caught fire on the candles lining the aisle!
We played some brilliant games in the evening including Mr & Mrs, Heads Up and bowling. I won, so Arthur had to crown me! We also had a Polaroid camera guest book. Everyone loved it and we got some hilarious photos and messages.
I felt so happy and relaxed in the morning and couldn't wait for us to be married. Walking down the aisle and seeing my soon-to-be husband smiling at me was such a special moment.
