What's your background? What got you started?
From around six years old I had an interest in the circus, which developed over a period of years. By the age of 12 I was performing fire juggling shows. My love for circus grew and as a consequence so did my involvement in all things events. Hospitality quickly becoming part of my life from the age of 16, running weddings at stately homes around Oxfordshire. This in turn led to the birth of Fandangos.

What's unique about your business?
A lot of our jobs, whether they're weddings, bars or even corporate gigs, involve an element of performance. Our strap line "Providing an exciting and experimental approach to having a good time" is at the heart of what we do. People can come to us with a rough idea and then we can go away and make suggestions on how to add to your day! With our experience and background, you can be sure that your guests will be pleasantly entertained.

What's your favourite thing about working in the wedding industry?
I love the process of meeting a couple at the beginning of their journey and then seeing how all the weeks, months and sometimes years of hard work and planning can culminate in one spectacular day. I love seeing people have a good time because of the preparation we've put in.

What's your proudest moment in your business?
It would have to be a last-minute wedding at the end of 2018. I was working over the winter period managing a busy Christmas market, a day before we opened the market I met a couple who wanted to get married six weeks later! Our team worked around the clock (on both jobs!) to produce a magical, intimate winter wonderland wedding day. It included stilt-walking snow queens, a walk-through winter garden, snow machines, boozy hot chocolates, a bride arriving to the aisle on a horse and an elaborately dressed marquee. It was a quick turn around job and one we'll always remember!

What's your top tip for wedding planning?
So many people want to organise their own wedding now-a-days, which is fantastic! It's lovely that everything can be personalised so carefully so that your wedding is exactly how you want it. Don't make the mistake of trying to do too much on the actual day, time after time we've seen a couple trying to manage their wedding on the day! You can still plan your wedding, but make sure you've got someone on the day to look after things, manage the day and keep things running smoothly so you can completely relax and enjoy your special day.
