Bath-based hen and stag organiser GoHen are getting tired of hearing, "You can't cast a female as Bond, he's the most masculine figure in the history of cinema." YAWN! GoHen have torn up the script and begun training a new generation of female secret agents in its all-action Jane Bond hen weekend.
In this fast-paced experience, the recruits will head to London for adrenaline-pumping, spy training action as they attempt to hone their espionage skills in a series of enthralling activities. They'll put their detective dexterity to the test in an eerie escape room, take to the Thames in a high-speed boat chase, hit the casino to polish their poker skills and learn the divine art of cocktail mixing to create that perfect martini: "Shaken, not stirred."It's all the excitement of Bond, without the cheesy one-liners and the Y chromosomes, and there's nothing the boys can do that the girls can't.
GoHen's Katie Dolan said: "We saw Pierce Brosnan come out the other day and back a female Bond to an overwhelming backlash, so we thought we'd try to prove once and for all that the girls can do it too." If you take gender out of the equation, you have a character with a penchant for danger, fast cars, the odd romantic dalliance and a desire to protect their country - nothing that's specific to men.
Whilst we sometimes revel in certain celebs getting irate when someone so much as mentions a female Bond (we won't name names... *cough* Piers Morgan *cough*), we're tired of hearing the ridiculous reasons why a female couldn't play Bond - so we're taking a stand and giving women a platform to shine.
