Meet Steve of Steve Lee Photoworks, a Bath wedding photographer...

Please give us an overview of your business and what makes you different?
I have a love and passion for photography, especially weddings. As a photographer I can't think of anything better than having a front row seat on one of the most important days of a couple's life, capturing their wonderful memories. When I take on a new wedding or engagement, I like to spend extra time talking to couples to build a rapport and find out something interesting to bring the best out of our session together. I care about the small details and so I'll look for qualities, such as their smiles, their expressions, their eyes or something that brings out their emotions, which enables me to capture the most beautiful moments - this is my point of difference.

One of my favourite times to shoot is at sunset 'golden hour', featuring the warm natural light to capture the most desirable pictures. Being very creative and I've been experimenting with a small pocket of light which happens just after sunset known as 'blue hour'. Shooting at this time can look insanely beautiful as the low ambient lighting is extremely flattering and moody.

What's your background and why did you launch your business?
I became a wedding photographer in 2012 and haven't looked back since. I've been developing my craft for many years now and wouldn't want to do anything else. I pride my wedding photography on what couples are looking for. To me it's not just taking a great photo, it's my passion to bring out the best in couples to achieve the most beautiful memories.

What's your favourite type of wedding to photograph?
A destination wedding is every photographer's dream. To experience a photoshoot abroad and on my occasion, a wedding in Koh Samui, Thailand, was just like a dream; as fairytales go this was right up the top. There was a ceremony on the soft sandy beach surrounded by all their family and closest friends. As I captured amazing images of the bride and groom, they escaped on an elephant ride across the beach as the guests were drinking champagne and watching the happy couple ride off into the sunset. Capturing these moments of the experience was epic.

Rest assured no matter how local, far or unique your wedding destination may be, I will ensure to capture your very own dream wedding.

What's your top tip for couples looking to book a photographer?
My top tip for couples looking to book a wedding photographer would be to make sure you both feel a good connection with your photographer and their photography style. Make sure the photographer understands what is important to you and your wedding and above all else, have fun – it's your special day!

What's the most common question couples ask you?
I often get asked "What makes you different from most of the other photographers out there?" Besides capturing beautiful, emotive memories of your important day, I'm a full-time wedding and portrait photographer so its all I do and I pride myself in giving 110% of myself to every couple I photograph.
