What style will keep my hair looking great all day for my winter wedding? And how can I get it looking its best in the lead-up?
Winter weddings remind me of crisp, misty mornings getting ready, followed by cosy gatherings with roaring fires and mulled wine. But winter can play merry hell with our hair as we go from sleek to frizzy in minutes and curls drop at the slightest spot of rain!
Thankfully, we have a toolbox of tricks to keep your mind off your hair, and last year my biggest win was the crown braid. It keeps the hair up and away from your face from morning to dancefloor, and it gives a relaxed boho feel. Not only is it easy to tailor with flowers or a decorative hairvine, but it's also a perfect anchor for a veil. Don't forget lashings of hairspray or blow-dry spray to keep humidity at bay.
To prep your hair before the big day, I always suggest a deep-conditioning mask. This will work even better if you add heat. Simply apply the mask to damp hair and wrap your head in a warm, wet towel and relax for five to ten minutes before washing it off. The heat in the towel will soak the treatment into the hair cuticles, leaving you with super-soft locks.
