Moonrise Lingerie in Nailsea announces new preloved wedding dress business

What's your background and why did you start your business?

We started our bridal lingerie business back in 2009 with an online site. Our aim has always been to provide a range of wedding underwear in a broad selection of styles and sizes to suit any bride. As the business has grown, I've added bespoke handmade wedding garters and petticoat hire to our offering and we now have our own lingerie shop in Nailsea, offering a full bra-fitting service. Bridal is still very close to my heart, so it was important that we kept a good stock of wedding lingerie for brides to choose from, as most leave their wedding undies right until the last minute!


What's your favourite thing about working in the wedding industry?

I really enjoy being a secret part of the brides' day. Wedding lingerie plays a key part in giving comfort and support, but is one of the few things that should remain well out of view of guests and photographers! We're excited to now be providing the main event - the dress! It's great being at wedding fairs and speaking with lots of excited brides talking about the planning for their special day, it brings back fond memories of my own wedding day and what an exciting time it was.


What made you decide to stock preloved wedding gowns?

We were wanted to extend our offering to brides preparing for their special day. Weddings can become terribly expensive so the addition of preloved wedding dresses seemed the natural addition.


What makes your business different? What do you offer Brides?

We stock a wide range of sizes and styles to suit all sorts of dresses such as strapless, low back and curvy sizes. The addition of our preloved wedding gowns means that brides can visit us for a full dress fitting, along with bridal underwear as well as remembering the smaller touches like their wedding garter and hosiery for the day.
