The UK’s oldest British caterer is celebrating its 175th anniversary

The UK's oldest British caterer is celebrating its 175th anniversary with the recreation of a royal wedding cake created by its founder, John Searcy, 126 years ago. The caterer has taken a trip back through its archives to the1896 royal wedding of Princess Maud, then the future Queen of Norway, to Prince Carl of Denmark. Considered the society wedding of the year, royal attendees included Queen Victoria, grandmother of the bride, the Prince and Princess of Wales, and the Crown Prince and Princess of Denmark.

Award win for Somerset cake designer Angel's Kitchen

We're sending big congratulations to Kerry Hemms of Angel's Kitchen, as she recently won Wedding Cake Designer 2020 at the Bristol, Somerset & Wiltshire Wedding Awards. Despite not being able to get dressed up and celebrate in normal award-ceremony style, Kerry was delighted with the win as it's based on her wedding couples' feedback. "After such a crazy year where I went from having 30 couples booked in to only making two cakes, it really was a fabulous win," Kerry says.
