We chat to Soozie Jenkinson, head of lingerie design at M&S

A little black dress from M&S With Google searches for winter wedding guest outfits up by 140%, M&S research has revealed that 61% of women have not purchased a dress they love because they don't already own a suitable bra. We chat to Soozie Jenkinson, head of lingerie design at M&S to ask which bra type you should wear with your wedding outfit.

With research revealing that the open-backed dress is the most challenging to find a perfect bra solution for, Soozie says: "If you're looking for the perfect solution to conceal your bra in an open-back dress, we recommend opting for a multiway bra. Thanks to its versatile construction, clear straps and adjustable back converter, it can work with any outfit but is perfect for low-back dresses."

The strappy slip dress is popular this party season and should be worn with a strapless bra. Soozie tells us, "Pair your strappy silk and satin slip dresses with a supportive strapless bra for an effortlessly elegant look. Helping to keep you comfortable all evening, this bra style also helps you embrace the minimal style."

When it comes to finding the perfect partner for your V neck low-cut necklines, Soozie suggests: "No matter how low the neckline, choose a plunge bra to ensure great support under your outfit. Elegant and comfy, this bra style can create additional lift, perfect for layering under plunging necklines."

An increasingly popular style, the square neck radiates sophistication. When it comes to choosing your lingerie for this style, she says: "For a square-neck dress, we recommend choosing a balcony bra as this discreet option fits under a dress with a wide, angular neckline neatly. If you don't feel comfortable wearing just a balcony bra, opt for a square neck bodysuit for a hidden layer of support."

If you're choosing the halterneck dress as your party outfit, selecting the right bra can feel like a bit of a mystery. Soozie says: "Pairing a halter neck with a strapless bandeau bra is perfect for all cup sizes. If you prefer a bra that offers that extra support, opt for a multiway bra with the straps crossed at the back.
