A little romance at Maunsel House wedding venue

Intimate table set up for wedding at Somerset venue Maunsel House Credit: EJ PhotographyRecent government restrictions have crushed thousands of couples' dreams of a big wedding, and venues such as Maunsel House, which are used to hosting large weddings each weekend, have been left empty. When restrictions started to ease, the venue began offering intimate micro-weddings, and the sound of laughter and joy were brought back to the house.

One couple, Josh and Thaissia, changed their plans to meet the 30-guest guideline, then had to quickly rearrange again to a guest list of just 15 people. "The team at Maunsel were brilliant, from our original pre-COVID plans to our twice-rearranged micro-wedding," Thaissia says. "We had the most amazing day and couldn't have asked for anything more. Everything ran so smoothly, the food was gorgeous and it felt incredibly special just having our chosen few people there. Despite everything going on, it didn't take away from the charm of the house, and we're very much looking forward to coming back in 2022 for our big reception!"
