Group Travel Awards has announced nominations with Bristol up for Best UK Destination and other local attractions SS Great Britain, Longleat and Aerospace Bristol also receiving nominations, highlighting that the city is the perfect place for hen and stag celebrations.

Bristol is up against Bournemouth, Canterbury, Isle of Wight, Kent, Liverpool, London and Manchester in a hotly contested category. Five other local businesses have received nominations in various categories, highlighting Bristol's commitment to successfully serving the group travel market. Brunel's SS Great Britain has been nominated for Best Group Dining Experience, Aerospace Bristol for Best Attraction for Groups outside of London, BBC Tours for Best Company or Venue Offering Guided Tours and GWR for Best Rail Operator for Groups.

Longleat has received three nominations for Best Animal or Sea Life Attraction, Best Family Day Out and their Festival of Light event is up for Best Event for Groups award. Additionally, easyJet, who have a large operation at Bristol Airport, received a nomination in the Best Airline for Groups category.

The Group Travel Awards are highly regarded in the group travel industry and reflects the endorsement from customers in this sector. Jon Chamberlain, marketing manager at Visit Bristol says of the nomination: “To be nominated by group travel organisers as a great UK destination to bring their groups is testament to the fantastic offer available in the city and surrounding area. This is reinforced by nominations for so many local attractions and service providers. We work hard to promote the city and group travel is a big part of that. Fingers crossed we can bring home another award for the city!”

Sarah Jeffery, Event Director at Group Travel Organiser, adds: “Bristol are to be congratulated on being nominated in the 'Best UK Destination for Groups' category”. The winners will be announced as part of a gala presentation evening in London on Friday 7th June.
